Contour (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates financialcontour.com, a free suite of financial planning visualization tools. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, how we use it, and your choices.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not require you to create an account. We do not store any financial figures you enter into our tools — all calculations happen in your browser and are never transmitted to our servers.
Email address (only if you subscribe)
If you submit the email capture form on our homepage, we collect your name and email address. This is the only personally identifiable information we collect, and it is entirely voluntary. You can use all Contour tools without providing any personal information.
Usage analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors navigate the site. This collects anonymized data including pages visited, referrer, browser type, and approximate geographic region. It does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. No cross-site tracking occurs.
Error and performance data
We use Sentry to automatically capture JavaScript errors and performance issues. When an error occurs, Sentry may collect the error message, stack trace, browser and OS version, and the URL where the error occurred. It does not capture any values you have entered into tool controls. This data is used exclusively to identify and fix bugs.
Fonts
We load fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests a font file, Google receives your IP address as part of the standard HTTP request. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Email address: Used to notify you when new tools are released. We send infrequent, tool-focused announcements only. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
Analytics data: Used in aggregate to understand which tools are most used and where navigation friction exists, so we can improve the experience.
Error data: Used to identify and fix bugs. Not used for profiling, advertising, or any purpose other than improving reliability.
We share data with the following third-party processors only to the extent necessary to operate the site:

Email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Analytics and error data are retained per the default policies of Vercel and Sentry respectively (typically 30–90 days).
You may unsubscribe from emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message we send. To request deletion of your email address or any other information we hold, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information we have collected and the right to request deletion. Contact us at the address above to exercise these rights.
Contour tools are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be noted by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
